About

Neil Portus, CFA®, CFP®, CMA®, TPCP®

I launched my career on Wall Street before transitioning to the CFO seat and wealth management.

I started as an investment banker at U.S. Bank before moving into equity research at Lehman Brothers, Barclays Capital, and Goldman Sachs, where I covered consumer and retail companies and helped lead Zipcar’s $1.1 billion IPO.

Through Tailored Partners, I work with business owners, leadership teams, and boards as a fractional CFO – leading financial operations, providing transaction support, and building financial models to bring clarity to critical business decisions.

I’m a CFA® charterholder, Certified Management Accountant (CMA®), CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional, and Tax Planning Certified Professional®. I hold an MBA from the University of South Carolina and studied music business at Middle Tennessee State University near Nashville.
